ConnectOne Bank Supports the Township of Union Education Foundation


France DelleDonne, Senior Vice President/Community Relations at ConnectOne Bank announced on March 26, 2016 that the Township of Union Education Foundation is being awarded a $2500.00 ConnectOne Bank grant for the 2016-2017 school year.   In announcing this award,  Ms. DelleDonne stated that “ConnectOne is a relationship-driven bank and can be counted on in connecting with and supporting our community partners.”

The Township of Union Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to raise funds to support grants to teachers for creative and innovative educational programs for the children in the public schools in the Township of Union.  Since its inception in 2001, the Education Foundation has awarded over 100 grants totaling over $150,000.00.

Their commitment to the children in our township is inspirational.   So many students in Union have benefited from their generosity.  They are a true pleasure to work with and we look forward to working positively with them for many years to come.  They are a model for other businesses in the community” commented Susan Lipstein, President, Township of Union Education Foundation. “The Education Foundation looks forward to honoring ConnectOne Bank, as well as our other donors,  at our spring reception which will be held on May 18 from 5-8 pm at the Knights of Columbus,  1034 Jeannette Ave. in Union.” 

Ticket donation for the  reception,  which includes a full buffet dinner and dessert as well as entertainment,  is $30.00 and the public is invited to attend.  The grant recipients from 2015-2016  and the new grant recipients from 2016-2017,   who will be announced in April, will be honored.     The Township of Union Education Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to raise funds to sponsor innovative and educational programs in Union’s public schools, is sponsoring a raffle.


        The cost of a ticket is $5.  The First Prize is an iPad Mini donated by Investors Bank – a $500 value.  Second Prize is “All Around Union” Gift Certificates donated by local merchants – a $200 value.  Third Prize is a Gift Basket donated by White Realty – a $100 value.


        Tickets are available at the ConnectOne Bank, 2003 Morris Avenue at Union Center, the ConnectOne Bank at 356 Chestnut St. at 5 Points, or by calling Barbara at 908-687-5743.


       The drawing will be held at 8:00 PM on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at the Knights of Columbus,1034 Jeanette Avenue, Union, N.J. at the annual reception for the Township of Union Education Foundation.  The winner need not be present.


The Foundation is pleased at announce we have awarded a garden grant for our first ever aeroponic garden at Livingston School.  We now have "Learning Gardens" at Union High School, Battle Hill Elementary School; Hannah Caldwell Elementary School, Connecticut Farms Elementary School and now, Livingston School!  Our goal is to have a "Learning Garden" at every school in the district!
Grant applications for gardens may be submitted at any time.

The Township of Union Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable organization composed of volunteer citizens whose goal is to raise and distribute money to fund creative and innovative educational programs in our public schools.  The Foundation has funded over 90 grants and donated over $135,000 since 2002!
