Washington Elementary School 3rd and 4th grade students participated in our 6th Bi-Annual Heritage Night Festival. 13 Coutrnies from around the world were represented in an Epcot like setting. The children experienced facts and fun about each country. They were able to sample great food, experience unique crafts, learn traditional ethnic dances, and partake in ethnic games and celebrations. The Heritage Night Festival was sponsored by the Washington Elementary PTA and was organized by one of our 2nd Grade Teachers,
Mrs. Lorraine Bartone. Special thanks to all of the parents, volunteers, and students that made this evening a tremendous success! Above left, a student learns to make pasta in "Italy" while, above right, parents and students sample traditional foods in "Portugal."

Students from Washington Elementary School collected "extra" Halloween candy and distributed it to American Veterans. The students were able to collect over 75 pounds of candy. Pictured above are (from left to right) Bethany Checo, Christian Ledet, Lesley Checo, and Sgt. Diaz
