| At Central Five there is a sense of family -
a bond between children, parents, staff and community. It is through
this connection that the Central Five family holds high its mission of
bridging the gap between the prekindergarten to fourth grade and the
middle school as it provides for the achievement of all students and
enables our citizens to become motivated as life long independent and
group learners. We currently enroll 587
students. The programs at Central Five include strong academic curricula which are enhanced by
art, physical/health education, DARE, vocal/instrumental music and computer science. In
addition to a computer lab with twenty-seven IBM compatible units, there are networked
units in each academic instructional area including resource centers, special education
rooms and Academic Achievement classes. Access to the Internet is also available through
these units.
We are proud of our uniqueness and importance in the molding of our young adults.
The activities at Central Five include Parent Involvement Programs such as Family Science offered in the evenings for children and
their parents; a School Improvement Initiative with staff, parent and community
participation; a partnership with Vauxhall Library offering training and
library cards enabling students to access resources at the Public Library;
a Gifted and
Talented Program; a schoolwide Recycling
Program; Community Service Projects including Knights
of Columbus Food Drive; UNICEF; Ethnic Pride Day,
Participation in Township Environmental Clean-Up; Writers-In-School Project; Language Arts
