• The Reverend Raymond Lukenda Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and community involvement. Any student interested in applying for the scholarship should write to the Raymond Lukenda Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 919, Clark, NJ 07066, or e-mail the Foundation at jmurray@mbslawyers.com, for an application form.

 

• Davis & Elkins College Scholarship. Visit www.davisandelkins.edu

 

• Burger King Scholars Program. One student will be nominated from UHS. Please see your counselor if you are interested in being nominated. Candidate must have a 2.5 or higher GPA, must work an average of at least 15 hours per week, demonstrate participation in community service and/or other activities, and demonstrate financial need.

 

• Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program. Requirements: Student GPA of 2.8 or higher, must demonstrate leadership abilities, and have strong involvement in community service. • Johnson & Wales University’s Chancellor’s Scholarship. Applicant must complete an admission application to Johnson & Wales to be considered for the scholarship. Please visit www.jwu.edu

·       The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. AMDA National Audition Tour for Admission and scholarships. Please visit www.AMDA.edu for more information.

 

·       Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to high school students who intend to pursue certificate or associate degree programs in NJ with a specific career objective. Preference will be given to students pursuing post-high school education other than traditional four-year college programs. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline: May 2, 2007.

 

·       Epilepsy Foundation Scholarship. Student must have a diagnosis from a physician, indicating the type and severity of seizures. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline: May 16, 2008.

 

·       Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to high school students who intend to pursue certificate or associate degree programs in NJ with a specific career objective. Preference will be given to students pursuing post-high school education other than traditional four-year college programs. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline: May 1, 2008

 

·       Marine Trades Association of New Jersey Scholarship and Pennco Tech. The first scholarship is a full scholarship to attend Pennco Tech in Blackwood, NJ for the Marine Technician Program. The second scholarship has a value of $1500 that can be applied towards any marine trades program at any school. The student must be a resident of NJ and be a recent high school graduate. ·       Epilepsy Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is available for any senior with epilepsy who plans to attend a college or university. Academic achievement, participation in activities and financial need will be considered. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline: June 1, 2006.

 

·       Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to any senior who has provided volunteer work and is in need of financial assistance. Deadline: April 21, 2008. Please see your counselor for an application.

 

·       Columbiettes Scholarship. Student Good Citizen Award. See your counselor for an application. Deadline: May 1, 2008.

 

·       Hispanic Scholarship Fund. The National Commission for Cooperative Education is proud to assist and promote the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. For application and information please visit www.hsf.net

·       Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Scholarship. Please visit http://www.tzuchi.org for application and information. Open to all high school seniors.

 

·       American Chemical Society Scholars Program. This scholarship is designed to encourage the best and the brightest African-American, Hispanic, and Native American students to pursue undergraduate degrees in the chemical sciences. Please visit: www.acs.org/scholars  

 

·       Jon M. Pritsch Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is available to any senior who has played on their school’s golf team and who desires to pursue a career in a golf-related field. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline: May 15, 2008.

 

·       Keith Hightower Scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in a post secondary school for math, science or technology. Deadline: May 20, 2008. Please see your counselor for an application.
